Obituary For FREDDIE "FRED" LEE COOK

In Memory of our loving Freddie “Fred” Lee Cook, born to Lee “Houston” cook and Hayes Cook on September 16, 1943 in Grady Arkansas.

Born September 16, 1943 - went to rest May 15, 2026 In 1953 they (family) moved to Laton CA, then later moved to Fresno CA were he continued his schooling.

Fred was a “jack of many trades” mechanic, truck driver and business owner custodian/maintenance.

He married Joan and resided in Fair Oaks CA, Joan had 2 children Michael and Melissa prior to marring later they were gifted with a loving daughter Rebecca Cook nicknamed “cookie monster”, This union lasted 20 years

Fred moved to Fresno were he met Mattie Sparks, they became close friends for 11 years before marrying on September 11, 2002 that union lasted till he went to rest Mattie have a daughter prior, Alisa Tates of Fresno.

Fred leaves behind his wife Mattie Cook of Fresno, Daughter Rebecca Cook of Georgia, Alisa Tates of Fresno, 3 brothers Frank Johnson, Bobby Small and David Knowlton all of Fresno CA, 2 sisters Betty Sykes of Sacramento CA and Darlene Lynch and Husband John Lynch of Nebraska, 6 grand children, 8 great-grand children and one on the way.

Fred have one special brother-in-law Walter Harris of Carolina, they had a joke between their selves were he was known as “no cooking Fred”. He will be greatly miss by many, many nephews, nieces, cousins and other family and friends. May he rest in peace.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, father, 6 brothers, 4 sisters 7 nephews and nieces.
