Herman Edward Beard Jr. (1947-2026)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Herman "Eddie" Beard Jr., aged 78, he passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026 of natural causes. Born on April 30, 1947, in Nashville, Tennessee to Herman E. Beard Sr. & Carrie Mae Beard.

As a veteran of the U.S. Army, Herman served his country with honor and integrity with tours in Vietnam, Germany, and Korea. After his military career, he became a civilian working for the military as a water line technician for 35 years.

He was an avid gold miner and loved exploring the beauty of nature. His passion led him to many mining locations, including the streams and rivers of Coarsegold and Mojave desert.

He also enjoyed playing sweepstakes, slot machines at casinos, and trying his luck with lottery tickets.

Herman was a man of quiet strength and love. Herman is survived by his wife Tok of 50 years. Father to Spring Burrus, Herman Beard III, and Faith Benjamin. Father-in-law to Orlando Benjamin and Mecca Lamon. Grandfather to Alia Beard, Qwayln Beard, Annissa Burrus, Jaden Burrus, Lauren Are, Keymarie Beard, Wesley Evans III, Meena Quaye, Aja Quaye, Louis Coronado, Serenity Beard, Ayon Quaye, Avianna Coronado, Boston Benjamin, and Charlotte Benjamin. Great Grandfather to Jayce Burrus.

A celebration of life will be held in Coarsegold (date to be determined).
